Who we are

The Premetovc is a historic Slovenian gostišče that found its way back into use because someone cared enough to stop, notice it, and take responsibility for it.

I didn’t set out to buy a hotel. I came to Slovenia for its landscape, its pace, and its sense of continuity — and discovered a house that had quietly been waiting. The Premetovc had welcomed travellers, neighbours, and locals for generations. Like many old places, it hadn’t failed — it had simply gone quiet.

Today, the house is being restored carefully and patiently, with respect for what it has been and openness to what it can become. The aim is not to turn it into something fashionable or overdesigned, but to let it remain itself: a place of welcome, rest, food, and conversation.

The work is ongoing. Some rooms are ready, others are still part of the process. Guests are welcomed during selected phases of the restoration, and those who stay become part of the story rather than spectators to it.

The Premetovc is not a concept or a lifestyle project. It’s a real house, in a real valley, being looked after for the long term.
